Low mood and depression
Feeling low, sad or depressed is something that happens to everybody at some time but when this is happening for longer than 2 weeks and impacting your life it is time to seek support.
This can involve a range of symptoms including:
Lack of energy
Feeling hopeless or disinterested
Anxiety or distressed
Lacking confidence or self-esteem
When you are feeling depressed or low it can mean that you disengage with those around you, stop doing activities you enjoy, use unhealthy coping strategies and spend time ruminating about negative things.
There is support out there for you and the first step is understanding what your personal symptoms are. This helps to identify any unhelpful thinking patterns or behaviours that you are using.
Looking for support is the first step to change and you taking the time to look for this is important. If you want to find out more information about feeling low or depression check the NHS website or get in touch here.
